When doing the Internal Family Systems form of Parts Work, the "Self" is an integral part of the process. One training I attended referred to Self as "the healing-agent". Tapping into our "true core Self" provides the space and perspective that promotes helpful interaction with our parts. This process may even create physical sensations in the body, including but not limited to: lightness, dizziness, cool-temperature sensations, or a felt-sense of expansiveness. In IFS- the Self is attributed with certain characteristics...that start with the letter C.
